Twenty-three enclosures and enclosure lines, captured from manufacturer or first-party retailer pages on 2026-07-21. Dimensions are external, normalized to feet for comparison (makers publish in feet-and-inches, inches, or meters; see Methodology). How to read the depth column. Depth is the single most misleading spec, because brands measure it differently. Full-surround kits like the Indoor Golf Shop SIG models report a deep footprint (13 to 16 feet) that already assumes standing room behind the screen, while wall-hugging bays like The Net Return report only 3.5 feet because the bay itself is shallow and the room provides the swing space. A shallow enclosure does not mean a shallow room. Always pair this table with the ceiling and swing clearance a full swing actually needs.

The Indoor Golf Shop (SIG8 / SIG10 / SIG12, DIY, SIGPRO Commercial)

The SIG line is the most spec-complete of any brand here. Each fixed model publishes a full enclosure footprint and a separate recommended room size: the SIG8 and SIG10 both call for a 12 x 9 x 18 foot room, and the SIG12 steps up to 14 x 10 x 20 feet, with a repeated warning that a taller swing may need more than the stated ceiling. All three use the SIGPRO Premium screen with double-stitched vinyl edges and claim the enclosure withstands ball strikes up to 250 miles per hour, a manufacturer figure we did not independently re-test. Foam covers all four sides to protect the frame poles.

Two caveats the product pages are explicit about. The DIY line ships the screen, surround, netting, and fittings but not the pipe frame, which you buy as 1-inch EMT separately, and the SIGPRO Commercial line likewise leaves out the 2-inch pipe kit (offered on the default configuration as an $1,150 add-on). On ball-to-screen distance, the Indoor Golf Shop comes closest of anyone: its Commercial FAQ says an 8-foot-deep enclosure ensures "you are hitting far enough away from the screen that you won't have aggressive bounce back or shadows." That is depth guidance, not an exact tee-to-screen number. Warranty is the weak spot: only the Premium impact screen carries a stated 1-year term, and no whole-enclosure warranty is published for any SIG product.

Carl's Place (DIY C-Series, Pro)

Carl's is the precision-spec brand. Its published spec sheets give exact outer dimensions in inches down to a fraction, note "a small manufacturing variance," and list viewable screen sizes and diagonals per listing. The DIY C-Series offers four screen materials (Standard, Preferred, Premium, and High-Contrast Gray) inside a BlackStop enclosure, assembles in about an hour, and starts at $999.95, the lowest full-enclosure entry price in the database. The Pro kit steps up to a three-layer screen, foam inserts, optional 12-inch safety baffles you can place at any distance to block rebound, and a frame engineered to hold overhead electronics; it assembles in about two hours.

Carl's is candid where others are silent. It states clearly that the black BlackStop material "is not designed to take a direct hit from a golf ball," that pipes are sold separately on both lines, and that the Pro needs at least 9.5 inches at the rear to fit its backset fittings, plus roughly 2 to 3 inches of side clearance and 12 inches behind for assembly. The honest gap: Carl's publishes no warranty duration for its own DIY or Pro enclosure or screen; its general terms sell products "as is" unless a manufacturer's warranty is stated.

GoSports (four screen enclosures plus a range cage and an inflatable)

GoSports is the value-and-speed brand. Every unit assembles in about 30 minutes (the inflatable Pro Sim inflates in 90 seconds), all use a reinforced HD woven-polyester screen rated for real balls at full swing speed, and internal foam "minimizes rebounding." The Range Cage ELITE, at $599.99, is the single cheapest entry in the database and uses a fixed powder-coated steel cage with an offset screen placed in front of the net specifically to minimize ricochets. Warranty across the GoSports range is a consistent 6 months, the shortest stated term here, with the maker noting "some cases may vary."

GoSports publishes the least dimensional detail of the major brands. Exact viewable screen dimensions are unpublished for every model except the Range Cage ELITE (95 x 93 inches), and no width or depth room-clearance figure is given beyond a recommended ceiling. Worth flagging honestly: the 12 x 9 foot model's own page recommends a 10-foot ceiling in its spec bullet but says 9 feet elsewhere in the description, a conflict on the manufacturer's page. Plan to the taller 10-foot figure.

SimSpace (Platinum, SLIM, UltraMAX)

SimSpace is the screen-technology brand, built around a three-layer 4K impact screen with a foam sound-dampening layer, sold in a white (Platinum) and a high-contrast gray (UltraMAX) finish, plus a shallow SLIM variant for tight rooms. Assembly is a two-person, 20-to-30-minute job with push-connect poles. SimSpace publishes measurements in meters and is unusually transparent that its selector figures are estimates and that inner and outer frames differ by roughly 0.1 meter. For clearance it gives a concrete buffer rule the others lack: leave at least 50 centimeters (about 20 inches) behind and 20 centimeters (about 8 inches) on each side "for ball impacts." Warranty is a clear 1 year from delivery, with impact-screen wear assessed against an expected 20,000-shot life.

One availability note from the research: SimSpace's catalog still returns a record titled "SimSpace Elite Golf Enclosure," but its direct product URL returns a 404 in the US storefront and it is absent from the current collection, so we do not treat it as a currently purchasable enclosure and carried over no specs for it.

The Net Return (Simulator Bay 8 / 10 / 12)

The Net Return is the shallow-footprint brand. Its bays are only about 3.5 feet deep and can sit as close as 6 inches from a wall, using a floating super-white HD screen that "minimizes rebound." Crucially, the Net Return is one of the few brands to publish real minimum room dimensions: the Bay 8 needs a 10 x 9 x 14 foot room, the Bay 10 a 12 x 9 x 14 foot room, and the Bay 12 a 14 x 9 x 14 foot room, with the honest qualification that total required depth actually runs 14 to 22 feet depending on your launch monitor. Netting is rated to 250 MPH. Warranty is where the Net Return leads: an industry-leading 3 years, though the stated term explicitly covers the nets, with whole-bay and impact-screen terms unpublished.

SimBooth (1 / 2 / 3 / 4)

SimBooth is the premium walled-booth brand, and the only one here that builds solid walls and a ceiling rather than a fabric surround. Prices run from $7,195 for the SimBooth 1 to $17,295 for the curved-screen SimBooth 4, by far the top of the database. Each publishes a crease-free screen with an exact diagonal (152 to 218 inches) and a recommended room size, and the SimBooth 4 uses a curved screen. The trade-off is honesty about install: the 1 and 2 self-install in under two hours, but the 3 and 4 explicitly require a professional installation team. The consistent gap across all four: SimBooth publishes no impact rating, no rebound spec, and no warranty term on the reviewed product pages, unusual for the most expensive enclosures in the set.

Rain or Shine Golf (SwingBay)

The SwingBay is the bounce-back-transparency standout. It is the only enclosure in the entire database that publishes a concrete rebound figure: about 5 feet of bounce-back when installed with the recommended 1-inch gap between screen and inner frame, with the triple-layer Premium screen described as quieter and lower-bounce. It assembles in under 20 minutes with a push-button quick-connect frame, offers single- or triple-layer ballistics-grade screens rated to 250 MPH, and pairs a 1-year impact-screen warranty with a 3-year frame warranty. Room clearance is published only for the 8 x 10 configuration (9-foot minimum ceiling, 10 feet preferred).

An enclosure's own footprint is not the same as the room it needs. Use this database for the enclosure, then check the two numbers manufacturers most often leave out: ceiling height and swing-and-projection depth. Tight or low-ceiling rooms. The shallowest external footprints here belong to The Net Return bays (about 3.5 feet deep, and they mount 6 inches off a wall) and the SimSpace SLIM (about 3.6 feet). But shallow enclosure depth still needs room behind you to swing, and the Net Return's own pages say total depth runs 14 to 22 feet with the launch monitor. For low ceilings, the manufacturer-recommended ceilings in this data start around 9 feet (SIG8, several GoSports units, SwingBay), so measure before assuming a garage will clear a full driver swing. Standard two-car garage or spare room. The 10-to-12-foot-wide enclosures (SIG10, GoSports 12 x 9, SwingBay 9 x 12, Net Return Bay 10) are the mainstream fit, generally wanting a 9-to-10-foot ceiling and a 12-to-20-foot depth once the launch monitor is factored in.

Dedicated or commercial rooms. The widest and deepest options (SIG12, SIGPRO Commercial, Carl's Pro at up to 16.6 feet deep, and the walled SimBooth 3 and 4) assume a purpose-built space and, in SimBooth's case, professional installation. 1. Ball-to-screen distance is universally unpublished. Across all 23 enclosures, not one manufacturer states a numeric recommended tee-to-screen distance. The closest anyone comes is the Indoor Golf Shop's guidance that an 8-foot-deep enclosure keeps you far enough back to avoid aggressive bounce-back, which is enclosure-depth advice, not a hitting distance. Buyers must infer safe distance from enclosure depth plus their own launch monitor's needs.

2. Warranty transparency varies more than price does. Stated terms range from 6 months (all GoSports units) to 1 year (SimSpace, and only the impact screen for the Indoor Golf Shop) to 3 years (The Net Return nets, and Rain or Shine's frame). At the same time, SimBooth (the most expensive brand, up to $17,295) and Carl's Place (both DIY and Pro) publish no enclosure warranty term at all. Higher price does not buy a longer stated warranty here.

3. Price tracks construction type, not just size. Fabric-surround kits and cages run about $600 to $3,500; the walled panel booths from SimBooth jump to $7,195 through $17,295 because they add solid walls, a ceiling, and (on the larger units) mandatory professional installation. The cheapest full enclosure is Carl's DIY at $999.95; the cheapest hitting setup overall is the GoSports Range Cage ELITE at $599.99.

4. "250 MPH" is a common claim, but only one brand quantifies bounce-back. Four sources cite a 250-mile-per-hour impact rating (the Indoor Golf Shop enclosures, The Net Return netting, and Rain or Shine screens), all manufacturer claims we did not independently verify. Rain or Shine's SwingBay is the only enclosure that publishes an actual rebound distance: about 5 feet with the recommended 1-inch screen gap.
