This is a research-and-analysis review built from Blue Tees' official published specifications: what the company states, what is app-only, and what our research could not independently verify.
On paper the Rainmaker is a lot of launch monitor for the money: Doppler radar, a built-in 4.3-inch display so you never pick up your phone between swings, a detachable magnetic remote, three standalone modes that run with no app at all, 20+ metrics, and both GSPro and E6 connections. That combination puts it straight into the Garmin R10's territory, though the R10 currently sells for less. The honest caveats: several of the advanced numbers are app-calculated rather than radar-measured, the app package is included for the first year, and our July 2026 research did not locate a published independent accuracy comparison against a reference unit. Three things in that grid deserve a sentence each. The three standalone modes (Practice, Target Distance, and Swing Speed) are the reason the built-in screen matters: Blue Tees states they run offline, so a range session doesn't require a phone, a tripod for the phone, or a connection. The detachable magnetic remote handles club changes, mode switching, and menu navigation without walking back to the unit, which is the kind of small thing you notice on shot forty. And Blue Tees says the radar is optimized to read both standard and radar-enhanced balls, which matters because some rivals in this price band want you buying marked balls.
Two specs buyers ask about are simply not on the official page: battery life and setup distance or room depth. Blue Tees publishes neither, which is why the Rainmaker sits on the UNPUBLISHED list in our space requirements database rather than carrying a number we made up. If you're planning an indoor bay, budget the room depth a behind-ball radar unit generally wants plus your ball-to-net distance, and confirm with Blue Tees before you build. The "unlimited shot data storage" line on the product page is a benefit of the app package, not a stated onboard-memory capacity for the device.
On-Device Metrics vs App-Only Metrics (Read This Before Buying)
The "20+ metrics" headline needs unpacking, and Blue Tees' own page does the honest work if you read the footnotes. The list runs: ball speed, launch angle, launch direction, apex, carry, total distance, back spin, side spin, spin axis, attack angle, club speed, club path, smash factor, then side, side total, hang time, descent angle, apex time, landing speed, and landing spin. Those last seven carry an asterisk, and Blue Tees states they are available through the Launch App only and are unique to the Blue Tees Physics Engine. In other words, seven of the twenty are app-layer outputs rather than numbers the device shows you on its own screen.
What Blue Tees does not publish is a measured-versus-calculated breakdown for the other thirteen. Spin from standard balls via consumer radar is the long-running question mark in this whole category, and while Blue Tees says the unit reads both standard and radar-enhanced balls, it doesn't specify how spin is derived on a standard ball. That's not an accusation, it's a documentation gap. Until independent testing accumulates, the reasonable posture is to treat the core ball and club numbers as the device's advertised job and the seven Physics Engine outputs as modeled values that depend on the app.

The framing that survives scrutiny: the Rainmaker is the newcomer attacking the budget radar tier with a bigger published feature stack (screen, remote, GSPro) at a higher price, the R10 is the cheaper incumbent with years of accumulated community data behind it, and the MLM2PRO stays the pick if measured spin is your priority and you'll live with marked balls. Step up to about $1,300 and the FlightScope Mevo Gen2 changes the conversation again, but that's a different budget.
What's Still Unknown
This is the part most Rainmaker coverage skips, so here it is plainly. Our July 2026 research did not locate a published independent accuracy comparison of the Rainmaker against a reference-grade unit. That is a limit of this review, not proof that no comparison exists. We are not going to hand you an accuracy verdict we cannot support.
Alongside that, Blue Tees leaves several things unstated in the accessible product text we reviewed: battery life, setup distance and room requirements, how spin is derived on a standard ball, renewal terms for the app package, and whether any specific feature becomes unavailable if that package lapses. The page does state that the device's three standalone modes work without a phone. Those are questions worth asking Blue Tees directly before you buy, and the stated 100-day money-back guarantee is the practical hedge if the answers don't hold up. Who Should Buy It
Consider the Rainmaker if: the built-in screen genuinely matters to how you practice and you're tired of propping a phone at the range, you want GSPro at this price (the R10 doesn't offer it), or you're already comfortable in the Blue Tees ecosystem. The 100-day return window makes it a lower-risk early buy than most new hardware.
Look elsewhere if: you want a unit with a longer public track record today (the R10 and MLM2PRO have both been on the market longer), you want complete app-renewal terms disclosed before buying, or you're building a permanent sim and should be comparing photometric units in our home simulator rankings instead.
